New Study: Twitter Bell-Curve

If you are a social media-savvy recruiter, you’re likely using Twitter and other means of social networking to get the word out about open positions. But did you know that Tweeting too much or too little can have a big impact on the number of followers you have?

A new study by Barracuda Labs shows there is a bell-curve in the relation between “Tweets” and “Followers”.

TwitterGraph New Study: Twitter Bell Curve

The graph shows “Followers” along the x-axis, with “# of Tweets” on the y-axis. The graph shows that if you are tweeting too much, you won’t get a large following. Likewise, if you don’t tweet enough, you won’t gain as many followers.

“Users with an average of 1,000 followers actually tweet the most, as compared to those with fewer than 100 followers, or more than 100,000 followers.”

How much do you tweet? Do you “Unfollow” someone if they tweet too much?
